Ius proprium Scotiae - Registers of Sederunt 1553-1626: (extracts) .

Here Lord Pitmedden extracted more items than the older collection had done - except for the time span 1608/5/17-1626/2/2 whose volume had in the mean time been lost, so that Lord Pitmedden merely copied the older collection of extracts. Lord Pitmedden failed, however, to use the older collection's extracts for the time span 1555/6-1559/3/23 whose original register was also no longer found. The pertinent volume was not shelved in the folio series of registers because (as the older collector tells us) it was not in folio and had only half the height of the other volumes.

1553/1/15-1555/7/19 (fol. 45r-63v{i}, this volume was not yet used in the older collection{/i}).

(Fol. 64v:) The second volume begins on the 27th of June 1560 and ends on the 13th of November 1567, so that there is a wast in thir bookes from Jully 1555 to the beginning of this register, being five years. And it may be asked wher the samen is.

Thes fyve preceiding leives is a coppie of a short abridgement which I have sein, of the Book of Sederunt beginning 17 of May 1608 and ending 2 Februarii 1626, which I am forced to insert here for want of a better, becaus I could not have the principall book, the same being lost. But if it shall be found, I have left the following sheitts of clean paper, to hold the contents of it at greater length.
